Dennis Rodman can be seen as a lot of things. A hall of fame basketball player, a champion, and individual who overcame mighty personal odds, to become and renown public figure in our society.
Or
You can choose to look at Rodman and a oft drunken embodiment of the absurdity often maligned modern athlete (coded language alert).
How you view Mr. Rodman undoublity colors how you feel about his recent interview with CNN on the exhibition basketball game Rodman and other former NBA stars are going to participate, in former Axis of Evil and still high on America’s sh*t list country, North Korea.
Normally I could care less about anything Rodman does. The last time I really checked for any of The Worms antics, he was involved in a tag team match with Hulk Hogan Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page.
That event happened so long ago, that the promotion that put it on doesn’t even exist anymore and I think DDP (For those who even know who he is) has since been banished to another universe.
Anyway
I decided to look up Rodmans interview with CNN’s Chris Como after it was widely described as a “meltdown”.
I witnessed no such meltdown.
What a saw was a man exasperated with being judged for his actions that he deemed to benevolent and defensivly annoyed that he was reciving critisiim via satialite from somebody that wasn’t doing anything to improve the beyond frayed U.S North Korea realations.
Now.
I’m no defender of N. Korea. All signs point to it being a country with MANY problems. And while I’ve had many problems with my uncle in my lifetime, I would politely pass on the opportunity to feed him to starving dogs if afforded the chance. That act was purportedly undertaken by North Korean leader and Dennis Rodmans stated best friend Kim Jong Un
No, I’m not condoning ANY of that. What I am stating is, no matter how much ones vocal tone reminds you of a bygone Ultimate Warrior promo, you should still pay attention to what they saying.
Anger is the all time arch nemesis of thought and it pilfered the words Rodman was looking mightily for, away from him during the segment, to his detriment.
But
His actions and the reasons behind them speak well for him.
Decide for yourself.
