So I’m watching the TLC super trailer (because a trailer doesn’t need to be 2 mins long to be super”) and my first thought is “The real life members of TLC, look way better than the people they have playing them.”

This is kind of crazy considering the the ladies portraying Left Eye, Chilli and T-Boz are playing roles covering periods in the latter’s life over 20 years ago. Maybe my inclination has something to do with the fact “Chilli” along with Tatyana Ali embodied my standard of beauty at the time, but I digress from my superficial musings.

No matter how much a strong contingent of us would like to believe they occurred just last week, the 90’s occurred before the internet, when you knew who Tom Brady was and Miley Cyrus treated every phallic symbol imaginable like a pacifier. Unlike the cringe worthy “United 93”, the proper time for their documentation is now.

Nobody could’ve predicted, VH-1 would become the new and arguably far worse BET, over the past decade. Given that, I quite interested to see how out sized the stereotypes of the former 90’s staples are covered. Here’s looking at you fictitious Andre Rison played by Rico Ball.

Then again, who am I kidding, I’ll be far too busy watching zombies, the machinations of 1920’s bootlegging kingpin and Chalky White and Dr. Narcisse prove  that Black folk have never gotten along to watch “CrazySexyCool” when it appears on the 21st of this month.

If you want to see bright clothes, condoms on eyes and witness the story of 3 talented ladies who at their peak sold more records than any other women in the history of humankind, only to ironically end up on the passenger side of their best friends ride, make sure to tune in,
